The "WeFit System" is formulated from a combination of principles based on intense research and development in association with pediatricians, children's podiatrists, and long time shoe engineers. The general consensus among pediatricians is that shoes which simulate a natural barefoot environment, complete with flexible soles, non-tapered toe beds, soft uppers, and minimal arch support. However, traditionalists would argue that such shoes do not provide enough protection to a child's foot, being too flimsy and lacking security.

Superior Flexibility for Healthy Foot Development X
The most important thing for children's developing feet is to have the freedom to move, flex, strain, and grow naturally. With all the developing bones and muscles in a child's foot it is essential that they are allowed to "work out" each part of their feet, making them grow healthy and strong.

Podiatrists attribute the almost complete lack of foot problems in developing countries to the fact that most young people run around barefoot in their youth, thus developing naturally strong feet.

Having a highly flexible and comfortable shoe is the key to simulating this "barefoot environment," and thus healthy and strong feet as an adult.
Protective Sole Unit X
The sole is comprised of both a high quality EVA base that is anti-microbial and provides healthy flexibility, as well as premium rubber inserts which add traction and increased protection to the foot. The EVA portion of the sole begins at the footbed and allows for maximum softness and comfort.

Also, as the EVA lines the base of the foot, it helps kill bacteria associated with perspiration and consequently fights odor. Note the rubber insert covering the front of the shoe, this adds increased toe protection and durability. These premium rubber inserts are also of the non-marking and non-slip variety.
Non-Tapered Toe Beds X
There are 46 bones in a school-aged child's foot, and these bones fuse together forming only 26 bones by age 18. This process is essential to healthy foot development for adult well being, particularly in the toes. Wearing shoes with tight, tapered toe beds can have the equivalent effect of binding the foot, which can obviously result in large development problems.

Heel Counter and Arch Supports X
While overly invasive arch supports can damage children's feet, a strong heel counter can help provide a secure, performance level fit. Weboo shoes have playground ready heel counters to provide a secure fit for the active child.
